Dr. Murphy is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and of Women and Gender in Global Perspectives at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has published widely on the ethics of risk, engineering ethics and transitional justice. Murphy is an Associate Editor of the Encyclopedia of Global Justice (Springer, 2011). She has received grant and fellowship support from the National Science Foundation in the United States, the Qatar National Research Fund, and the Princeton University Center for Human Values.

Paolo Gardoni is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has a number of publications on the ethical, social, and legal dimensions of risk; policies for natural hazard mitigation and disaster recovery; and engineering ethics. His research interests also include reliability, risk and life cycle analysis; and decision making under uncertainty.

Hassan Bashir is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Texas A&M University at Qatar. His broad areas of research interest are Political Theory, International Relations, Ethics and Globalization. His recent work focuses on cosmopolitan / intercultural political theory, history of political thought, Asian Politics, Non-state militancy and the politics of religion in a comparative perspective. Dr. Bashir is the author of Europe and the Eastern Other: Comparative Perspectives on Politics, Religion and Culture before the Enlightenment (Lexington Books). His is also the co-editor of a volume on professional ethics and globalization (under contract Lexington Books - forthcoming 2013) He is the Founding Director of The initiative in Professional Ethics at Texas A&M University at Qatar. Dr. Bashir is a Fulbright fellow and has also received the H. B. Earhart fellowship three times. He has received grants from the Qatar National research Fund on projects related to Professional Ethics.
