Brian Selznick, geboren 1966 in New Jersey, ist ein vielfach preisgekrönter Illustrator und "New York Times" Bestsellerautor. Er arbeitete nach seinem Designstudium als Dekorateur in einer Kinderbuchhandlung und fand hier Inspiration, um selbst zu Zeichenstift und Feder zu greifen. Brian Selznick lebt in New York und San Diego.
