Seit 1997 ist er Professor an der Universität Leipzig und war von 2005 bis 2021 Direktor des Instituts für Grundlagen des Bauens und Planungsmanagement. Pahl übernimmt Gutachter- und Preisrichtertätigkeiten und erhält regelmäßig Einladungen zu internationalen Vorträgen. Seit 2003 ist er Gesellschafter der PWP Planungsgesellschaft mbH \u0026amp; Co.
