Joe Navarro, Jahrgang 1953, kam mit acht Jahren aus Kuba in die USA. Da er kein Wort Englisch sprach, entdeckte er sehr früh den Nutzen der nonverbalen Kommunikation. Später entlarvte er als FBI-Agent in der Abteilung für pionageabwehr 25 Jahre lang Spione, indem er ihre Körpersprache beobachtete und ihre wahren Gedanken und Gefühle blosslegte. Heute unterrichtet er das Entschlüsseln nonverbaler Kommunikation an Universitäten und verfasst Bücher.
