Welch beeindruckendes Buch! Der Leser darf sich hiermit auf eine ganz besondere Reise begeben. Im Buch „The Awe of Arcitic“ wird eine Welt aufgezeigt die ganz besonders und einmalig auf unserem Erdenball ist. Die Zeichnungen und künstlerischen Darstellung rund um die Arktis selbst sind nicht nur Kunst selbst sondern auch Zeitzeugnisse gleichermassen. Die Aufmachung des Buches ist grandios und typisch für den Verlag Hatje & Cantz. Das Buch ist den Farben der Kunstwerke angepasst und die Schriften sowie Bildunterschriften zu den Kunstwerken ist harmonisch abgestimmt. Als Leser versinkt man schnell in dieser Welt und kann nur begeistert sein. Einerseits von der Natur, den Menschen die dort leben bzw. sich als Forscher dorthin wagten zu einer Zeit, wo es nur begrenzt Technik gab im Vergleich zu heute aber auch von den künstlerischen Interventionen selbst.
