A Drillbook of English Phonetics (Walter Sauer)

The "Drillbook of English Phonetics" is designed to accompany lecture courses on English phonetics and language laboratory classes in British English pronunciation at university level. It is equally suitable as a self-instructional programme for anyone wishing to improve their English pronunciation. Part I (Pronunciation Practice) provides pronunciation exercises to be used in conjunction with additional audio material or following the model of a native speaker. Part II (Transcription Practice) presents model texts for phonetic transcription. In both parts, orthographic text and phonetic script appear on facing pages. Several phonetic puzzles are also included.Two CDs containing all practice material of the "Drillbook of English Phonetics" are available directly from the author for EUR 28.- (including postage).

Walter Sauer, Jahrgang 1942, lehrt am Anglistischen Seminar der Universität Heidelberg. Er hat zahlreiche sprachwissenschaftliche Schriften und Dialektübersetzungen veröffentlicht.
