Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832-1898) ging unter seinem Pseudonym Lewis Carroll in die Literaturgeschichte ein. Der Dozent für Mathematik und Logik am Christ Church College in Oxford wurde zu einem der bekanntesten Vertreter der 'englischen Nonsens-Literatur'. »Alices Abenteuer im Wunderland« - das er 1864 ursprünglich für die kleine Tochter seines Dekans, Alice Pleasance Liddel, geschrieben hatte - zählt heute zu den Meisterwerken der Weltliteratur. »Through the Looking-Glass« (dt. »Alice hinter den Spiegeln«) folgte 1871. Sein Nonsens-Gedicht »Die Jagd nach dem Schnatz - Eine Agonie in acht Krämpfen« erschien 1876. Die in Versform verfasste Geschichte wurde als Kinderbuch mit zahlreichen Illustrationen veröffentlicht und seitdem in etlichen Varianten für die Bühne und als Musical bearbeitet.
Von ihm sind im Hörverlag bisher »Alice im Wunderland« und »Die Jagd nach dem Schnatz« erschienen.
