»Amnesties and the International Criminal Court. A Study on the Possibilities of Considering Amnesties in International Criminal Proceedings«: The ICC has already come into conflict with amnesties. Yet, it has not yet developed any guidelines for dealing with them. That is why this thesis attempts to answer the question of whether and how the recognition of amnesties is possible with a view to conflict resolution. The analysis shows that a discontinuation of the proceedings within the meaning of Art. 53 RS is possible in acute emergency situations, particularly from the point of view of victim protection, prevention and peacekeeping.

Yara del Carmen Bröcker began her law studies at the University of Cologne. She completed her studies with a focus on international criminal law in 2019 with the first state exam. From October 2019 to August 2023, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Comparative Criminal Law (Director Prof. Dr. Bettina Weißer) at the University of Cologne and completed her dissertation. Since September 2023, Yara del Carmen Bröcker has been completing her legal clerkship.
