Bistumskumulation im Alten Reich (Sven Dittmar)

This is the first study to investigate one of the many instances of bishops holding multiple dioceses at once in the Old Reich. It examines Lothar Franz von Schönborn's rule over the Electorate of Mainz and the Prince-Bishopric of Bamberg, shedding light on the legal and political conditions of the personal union as well as its consequences for imperial politics, relations with the curia, and the organization of the dioceses and territories.
