»The Single-Company Commercial Agent in German law. A Legal History Study«: This legal history study traces, in particular, the avenues repeatedly explored by the German legislature to provide specific labour law protection for the special type of single-company commercial agent, both procedurally and substantively. It illuminates why this goal has so far been missed and explains how, in the author's view, the standing of low-earning single-company commercial agents to bring legal action in labour courts has systematically been rendered meaningless.

Kai Uwe Robert Berrer, born in Hamburg in 1957, studied law at the university of his hometown after graduating from grammar school. Following his legal clerkship he passed the Second State Examination before the Judicial Examination Office of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court of Hamburg. His subsequent professional career led him to the German financial services sector, with which he remained continuously associated. At the same time he ran a law office in Lübeck until the end of 2024. This thesis was accepted as a dissertation by the Faculty of Law of the Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein in the autumn of 2024.
