»The Effect of the Periodic Acknowledgement on the Statute of Limitations and Forfeiture of Enrichment Claims in Current Accounts«: The bank current account recognises credits and debits. There is no comprehensive legal regulation on offsetting in the financial statements. The study shows that case law severely restricts correction claims. As incorrect postings are often only recognised years later, interest in correction options is increasing. The work examines the extent to which it is possible to open accounts retroactively and develops new approaches to the effect of offsetting and limitation periods in current accounts.

After spending a year abroad in London, Marcus Stößer studied law at the University of Leipzig, specialising in banking and capital markets law. After passing his first state law examination in 2017 and working as a student trainee in a medium-sized law firm, he completed his doctorate under Prof. Dr Lutz Haertlein from 2018 to 2024. During his doctorate, he worked as a research assistant at the chair of his doctoral supervisor and occasionally at the Chair of International Business Law, represented by PD Dr Alexander Stöhr. Since the beginning of 2023, he has been a trainee lawyer at the Regional Court of Leipzig.
