With her Gothic novel, 19-year-old Mary Shelley created a myth that continues to live on to this day. Although he created the monster, Frankenstein is still considered the ultimate horror character.

Mary Shelley (1797-1851) was one of the most notable authors of English Romanticism. With her legendary Frankenstein (1818), she created the first science fiction novel. Ulrike Draesner, geb. 1962, ist Prosaautorin und Lyrikerin. Sie wurde u. a. mit dem Gisela-Elsner-Literaturpreis und dem Nicolas-Born-Literaturpreis ausgezeichnet. Seit 2018 ist sie Professorin am Deutschen Literaturinstitut Leipzig.
