Johannes Herwig, in Leipzig-Connewitz geboren und groß geworden, erlebte die Nachwendezeit als Punk. Er studierte Soziologie und Psychologie, war viele Jahre selbständig im Kulturbereich tätig und Mitbegründer der Filmgalerie Phase IV in Dresden. 2013 widmete er sich endlich seinem lang gehegten Traum: Autor zu werden. Für seinen ersten Roman Bis die Sterne zittern war er für den Deutschen Jugendliteraturpreis nominiert und wurde mit dem Paul-Maar-Preis ausgezeichnet. 2024 erhielt er den Anna-Seghers-Preis. www.johannesherwig.de
