Rainer Fetting

Rainer Fetting (b. Wilhelmshaven, 1949; lives and works in Berlin and Sylt), is best known for his work as a painter. This year will bring the first show at his New York gallery Albertz Benda after a hiatus of more than three decades. The book presents paintings created between the 1990s and today, with a focus on works from New York, Florida beaches and seascapes, and views from the island of Sylt. With an essay by Boris Pofalla.

Rainer Fetting wurde 1949 in Wilhelmshaven geboren. Von 1972 bis 1978 studierte er an der Hochschule der Künste, Berlin, bei Professor Hans Jaenisch. 1977 gründete er mit Helmut Middendorf, Salome, Bernd Zimmer, Anne Jud, Berthold Schepers und Luciano Castelli die Galerie am Moritzplatz. 1978 erhielt er ein DAAD-Stipendium für einen Aufenthalt in New York. 1996 entwarf Fetting die Willy-Brandt-Skulptur für das Willy-Brandt-Haus in Berlin und verbrachte mehrere Studienaufenthalte in Kopenhagen. Rainer Fetting lebt und arbeitet als freischaffender Künstler in Berlin und New York.
