»Swift Arbitration in the Workplace by Collective Bargaining Arbitration Boards in Accordance with Section 76(8) of the German Works Constitution Act«: The conciliation board is under criticism: too slow, expensive, and sluggish. The collective bargaining parties in the Bavarian metal and electrical industry have therefore created a »swift arbitration board« in the framework collective agreement. Using this example, the author examines the extent to which collective bargaining power can be used to shape the conciliation board procedure. He shows that there are already opportunities to accelerate and flexibly shape workplace conflict resolution (Section 76 (8) BetrVG).

Fabian Vetter studied law at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich from 2015 to 2020 and completed his legal clerkship at the Munich Higher Regional Court from 2020 to 2022. Following his legal clerkship, he wrote his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Volker Rieble at the Chair of Labor Law and Civil Law at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. He also worked as a research assistant at his doctoral supervisor's chair and as an independent lawyer. Fabian Vetter received his doctorate in the summer semester of 2025. Since May 2025, he has been a lawyer specializing in labor and employment law at SGP Schneider Geiwitz in Munich.
