A Comparison of Proceedings in the Singapore International Commercial Court with the Advantages and Disadvantages of International Arbitration Proceedings«: Why would parties take their commercial disputes to the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) rather than the more popular arbitration? To answer this question, this monograph analyses the extent to which the pros and cons of arbitration apply to the SICC. It examines the constitution and organisation of the SICC, the professional law of lawyers and law firms, the law of procedure, enforcement and litigation costs as well as third-party litigation funding as they relate to the SICC.

Patrick Dahm is a Singapore-based German commercial and arbitration lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) with over twenty years of professional experience (as of 2024). Legal studies in Hamburg, Germany; legal clerkship in Hamburg and Singapore; doctorate at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich; called to the German Bar in 2006; based in Singapore since 2008; admitted as foreign practitioner to practise Singapore law in permitted areas since 2014; foreign lawyer with full registration with the Singapore International Commercial Court since 2023; counsel and arbitrator practice in labour, corporate, commercial, IT, distribution and maritime law.
