Silke Vry studierte Klassische Archäologie, Kunstgeschichte und Volkskunde und nahm an Ausgrabungen in Syrien, Jordanien und Deutschland teil. Seit vielen Jahren schreibt sie Bücher über Archäologie und Kunst für junge Erwachsene und Kinder. Die Autorin lebt in der Nähe von Hamburg. Martin Haake arbeitet seit vielen Jahren als freier Illustrator für internationale Verlage sowie in den Bereichen Editorial und Design. Zu seinen Kunden zählen die New York Times, das Wall Street Journal, National Geographic und Penguin Books. Seine Illustrationen sind vielfach preisgekrönt.
