Ilka Sokolowski hat nach dem Studium der Germanistik, Anglistik und Philosophie in Hannover mehrere Jahre als Redakteurin der Zeitschrift spielen und lernen und als Lektorin der Treff Jugendbücher gearbeitet. Seit 1998 ist sie freiberufliche Autorin, Schwerpunkt Kindersachbuch. Janine Czichy stammt aus Jena. Sie hat Visuelle Kommunikation an der Bauhaus- Universität Weimar studiert und macht derzeit ihren Master in Design, Teilstudiengang Illustration, an der HAW Hamburg. Tierisch tödlich, ihr erstes Buch, ist aus ihrer Bachelorarbeit an der HAW Hamburg entstanden.
